Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a California license and strong precepting skills for night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Labor & Delivery unit of an acute care hospital
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00
• Must be flexible and available to work weekends
• Travelers may be required to float between Labor & Delivery and Mother Baby units, as well as between affiliated hospitals within the state
• Epic EMR is used and experience is required
• Caseload and weekend requirements may vary with contract length
• Travelers must agree to float among all system facilities as needed
• Must commit to working at least 3 out of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day)
• Scrub color is flexible and any color is permitted
• Free parking is provided
• Return staff must have at least a 3-month gap before returning as a traveler
• Requested time off must be declared prior to consideration and excessive requests may delay offers
• Orientation modules are required pre-start and annually, totaling approximately 16 hours

Requirements

• Active CA RN license must be in hand at time of submission
• A minimum of 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Current ACLS, BCLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced certifications are required
• Precepting experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers will be considered
