Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position in Illinois, requiring an active IL RN license and strong orthopedic experience.

Details

• Work in a 38-bed Medical Surgical unit within an acute care Level I trauma center
• Ortho cases with consideration for Med/Surg RNs who have good orthopedic experience
• Night shifts of either 3x12 or 4x12 hours (18:45-06:45)
• Required to work every third weekend
• Floating to other Med/Surg departments within scope may be required
• Cerner charting system is used on the unit

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license required at the time of application
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
• Telemetry experience preferred
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required, including PICC line management and starting IVs
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience is preferred

• Responsible for providing care to a varied Med/Surg and orthopedic patient population
• Magnet-designated hospital environment
• No on-call requirements for this position

• RTO requests ideally limited to no more than 5 days
• Any solid color scrubs are permitted
