Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 2 years of experience for a home health contract, BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a home health setting providing care to geriatric patients and those with joint replacement, stroke, CHF/COPD, and Parkinson’s
• Typical caseload is approximately 5 patients per day, depending on type of visit and evaluation
• Use Cerner EMR, with a transition to Epic anticipated
• Self-scheduling is available with shifts from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
• Supervision and collaboration with PTAs as part of the care team
• Responsibilities include conducting home health evaluations, developing care plans, and providing therapeutic treatments
• Departmental orientation includes computer-based training and 1:1 field training with a preceptor
• Solid color scrubs of any color and closed-toed shoes are required
• Local candidates within 80 miles are considered local and subject to a lower pay rate
• Former employees must not have worked at the facility in the past 6 months and require approval to return

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent physical therapy experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with OASIS documentation strongly preferred
• Lymphedema certification considered a plus
• Ability to work independently in a home health environment
• License required if applicable
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years
