Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a CT or compact RN license and proficiency in high-acuity cardiac care.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a short-term acute care hospital with Level I Trauma designation
• Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 on both day and night shifts
• Will float to other Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) ICUs as needed
• Night shift schedule with four 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00pm to 7:00am
• Epic is used for charting, and Epic experience is required or preferred
• Every other weekend work is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Provide specialized care for high-acuity cardiac patients in a dynamic ICU environment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a large academic trauma center
• First-time travelers are accepted if they have relevant CTICU/critical care experience
• Facility can approve up to 7 days of requested time off; requests for more than 7 days require approval
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• Returning employees must have separated from previous permanent employment for at least 2 years to be eligible

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license, or ability to obtain prior to consideration
• Minimum of 3 years of recent cardiac ICU (CVICU/CTICU) experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience and proficiency with Swan-Ganz monitoring is required
• Trauma center experience at a large facility required
• Flu vaccine required without declinations permitted
• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required with only religious or medical exemption allowed
• Must not have prior nursing license discipline
