Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical unit, requiring at least 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Medical Surgical unit with an adolescent and adult patient population
• Patient diagnoses include a range of medical and surgical cases, with a focus on orthopedic injuries, neuro-spine, and post-op care
• Typical patient ratio is 1:5
• Night shift position with four 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Floating required to like units, including ICU, ED, and other Med/Surg units
• Utilizes Epic EMR, Epic experience required
• Orientation consists of 24 hours
• Team-based care model with Helping Hands and Team Nursing approach
• Responsibilities include assisting with patient sitting and floating for support across units
• Charge nurse experience is preferred
• Scrubs of any color or style are acceptable
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a reduced rate

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Medical Surgical nursing
• Current BCLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• Completion of at least 1 hour of stroke education
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with peripheral line care, IV starts, and surgical drain management
• No consideration for first-time travelers
• Candidates who have previously worked at facilities associated with SolutionHealth are not eligible
• Two professional references required at time of consideration
