Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Echo Tech with at least 2 years of experience and specialized proficiency in complex congenital heart defects for a travel assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a pediatric setting providing echocardiograms to children with congenital heart disease
  • Daily caseload per tech ranges from 4 to 10 studies
  • Monday through Friday schedule with staggered 8-hour day shifts starting as early as 6:30 AM and as late as 8:00 AM
  • No weekends or holidays required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required between main hospital and North Charleston clinic
  • Use of GE Vivid 95 and PACS for entering full reports
  • EMR system is Epic
  • Must be comfortable with extensive pediatric cardiac case complexity
  • Ability to float to alternate locations during the assignment is necessary
  • All requested time off must be communicated before offer; RTO over 7 days or during holidays requires facility approval
  • Previous employees must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before consideration as a traveler
  • Modules are required pre-start and take approximately 4 hours to complete
  • During hurricane season (June-November), travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams
  • Locals within 60 miles are considered at a reduced rate

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric echocardiography experience
  • Registered Pediatric Sonographer (ARDMS) with PE certification or CCI with RCCS certification required and must be in hand at start
  • Proficiency in scanning pediatric echocardiograms and diagnosing complex congenital heart defects
  • Experience with GE Vivid 95 and Epic preferred
  • BLS certification required (AHA only)
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • License required if applicable
  • SSN and driver's license required for consideration
