Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with a BSN for a Director of Nursing/Supervisor role in a skilled nursing and long-term care setting, requiring a WI or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

Position is in a skilled nursing and long-term care facility within a hospital environment
Work schedule is Monday to Friday day shift with 24/7 accountability
Responsible for overseeing care in both skilled nursing and long-term care units
Leadership role includes supervision of nursing staff and coordination of interdisciplinary resident care programs
Lead, supervise, hire, train, and evaluate nursing staff to ensure quality care and compliance with regulations
Plan, coordinate, and implement departmental objectives, nursing standards, and updated policies and procedures
Oversee and assist in assessment, case management, resident care planning, and ensure optimal care with interdisciplinary teams
Monitor and report monthly quality data, including falls, skin, medication management, and chart compliance
Foster a supportive and respectful environment for residents, respecting residents’ rights and choices
Provide direct resident care and handle coordination of nursing services with other departments
Guide and enforce infection control practices and participate in departmental budgeting and expense monitoring

Requirements

Active WI or compact RN license required
BSN required upon hire
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Minimum of 2-4 years’ supervisory experience in long-term care nursing or demonstrated leadership in a long-term care facility
Required certifications: BLS/CPR (approved certification required within 90 days)
Working knowledge of reimbursement systems and State and Federal regulations within long-term care and The Joint Commission (TJC)
