Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a General Operating Room position requiring Level 1 trauma experience and an active NJ RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital General Operating Room setting
• Provides perioperative nursing care in a Level 1 trauma environment
• Shift is 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
• Must work both day and evening shifts as scheduled
• Required to work at least one summer and one fall/winter holiday, with alternate day coverage if not scheduled on the holiday
• Must work a designated winter hallmark and spring hallmark shift
• Responsible for ensuring patient safety and quality monitoring throughout surgical procedures
• Coordinates care across the operating room team
• Holiday coverage obligations require flexibility for major calendar holidays
• Strong teamwork and communication skills essential for this environment

Requirements

• Active NJ RN license or compact RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum of 3 years recent OR nursing experience in a Level 1 trauma hospital
• BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• COVID vaccination plus one booster required (religious exemptions accepted)
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills required
