Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night-shift ICU position requiring a ME or compact RN license and at least one year of recent ICU experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in the Intensive Care Unit/CCU of a hospital setting
  • Patient care involves critically ill adults requiring intensive monitoring and support
  • 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Every other weekend is required
  • Care for critically ill patients as part of a multidisciplinary ICU team
  • Manager interviews are part of the selection process
  • Flu vaccination is required for all start dates from September 30, 2024, and beyond unless a documented medical exemption is approved
  • Medical exemptions for the flu vaccine must be submitted at least two weeks in advance for approval
  • Walk-in flu shot clinics are available onsite
  • Travelers living 100+ miles north of Bangor may be considered only with special approval
  • Travel pairs will not be considered for the same position

Requirements

  • Active ME or compact state RN license is required
  • Minimum of 1 year recent ICU experience is required
  • Copies of all current certifications must be provided
  • Two references from the past year, with at least one from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge Nurse
  • Driver’s License must be submitted as a separate file
  • Must not have previously worked in a permanent capacity at any Northern Light Health Hospital
  • Permanent address must be 100+ miles south or southwest of Bangor, ME for consideration
  • Full Social Security Number (SSN) required for consideration
