Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with night shifts and requiring an active OH or compact license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 7:30
• Care for medical-surgical patients with telemetry monitoring
• Patient population includes diverse adult medical and telemetry cases
• Night shift RN responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, patient care, assessment, and documentation
• Required to complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation, with two attempts permitted
• First-time travelers are considered
• Locals are accepted at the same bill rate
• Permanent and per diem candidates must wait at least 1 year after ending a prior assignment at the facility
• Assignments cannot exceed 18 consecutive months at the facility; a 6-month break is required before returning
• Nurses are exempt from current nicotine-free facility policy
• Must pick up badge and complete onsite fingerprinting prior to start date
• Modules and annual trainings are required prior to start and will be tracked by the facility

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 18 months recent, permanent Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Active BLS certification and any other required specialty certifications must be in hand
• Reference must be provided from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty
• All background checks must show no license hits or open cases
• Annual negative 10-panel + nicotine (cotinine) drug screen required
• BCI/FBI fingerprints must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• Must provide valid driver's license and Social Security Number copy
