Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg position caring for adult patients with cardiac, neuro, and general medical needs in Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital Medical Surgical unit
• Patient population includes adult med/surg, cardiac with antiarrhythmic drips, and neuro patients post-TIA/CVA
• RNs maintain antiarrhythmic and insulin drips, and perform NIHSS assessments
• Unit has 18 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Uses remote and wall mount telemetry, bladder scanner, vein light, and iPop
• Epic charting software is used
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hour shifts, 19:00 to 7:30)
• Must work every other weekend
• May float to other med/surg units or the ED waiting room if needed
• No call required
• Admission Unit (AU) provides fast-paced care to stable adult med/surg and cardiac populations including Inpatient, Observation, and Clinical Decision Unit patients
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and focus on patient-family centered care and discharge facilitation
• Dress code is hunter green scrubs
• First time travelers are accepted
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS (AHA) certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
• Telemetry experience preferred
