Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring current compact RN license, EKG exam proficiency, and travel experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Emergency Department serving both adult and pediatric populations
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4
  • Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:30
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Float within skillset may be required
  • Required to provide triage, IV starts, and phlebotomy
  • Locals within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate
  • Holiday and weekend coverage is rotated among staff
  • Floating is limited to assignments within the RN's skillset
  • First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

Requirements

  • Active MD or compact RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
  • General ED experience with both adult and pediatric patients required
  • Charge experience preferred
  • TNCC, CPI, and MAB certifications preferred
