Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Hawaii, requiring flexibility with shifts and an active HI RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 50-bed adult Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population consists of adults age 18 and older
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5
• Use of Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tube equipment
• Variable shift schedule with various shift lengths and days; no guarantee of specific shifts
• Possible floating to surgical pediatrics or transitional care units
• 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation
• Department-specific orientation is included during the first week
• Professional nursing attire required with no mandated scrub color; closed toe shoes are required
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start
• No holiday time-off requests are permitted
• Plan to arrive in Hawaii by the Thursday prior in order to complete Employee Health processes

Requirements

• Active HI RN license required by assignment start date
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or higher level care experience
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with Meditech EMR and Med/Surg equipment preferred
