Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of recent home health experience for a community-based role in Alaska with no on-call or weekend requirements.

Responsibilities

• Home health position providing care in patient homes with an office on campus
• Average daily census of 26 patients with a caseload focused on community-based care
• Primary diagnoses include COPD, CHF, orthopedic procedures such as joint replacements, and neurological diseases
• Schedule options include 4x10 or 5x8 day shifts, Monday through Friday, with flexible start times
• No on-call or weekend shifts required
• May float within scope to hospice if needed
• Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience within the past year is preferred but not required
• Responsible for patient evaluation, treatment, and modification of care plans as needed
• May provide oversight and mentorship to PT assistants, aides, and students
• Participates in interdisciplinary collaboration and quality improvement initiatives
• Completes accurate and timely documentation according to licensure and regulatory standards
• Block scheduling is accommodated for the Monday through Friday work week
• First-time travelers are accepted if OASIS experience is present
• Local candidates are not accepted for this assignment
• Will need to provide proof of all active certifications at the time of consideration
• Ketchikan, AK, offers a mild maritime climate with temperatures similar to Seattle

Requirements

• Current Alaska Physical Therapist license required; Compact PT license accepted
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of recent home health or outpatient adult physical therapy experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• OASIS experience required for first-time travelers
• Reliable vehicle required for community visits
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills required
