Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with charge coverage and Cerner charting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg Tele unit on the 2E overflow floor
• Night shift position with 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Charge nurse responsibilities may be required depending on operational needs, with training and resources provided
• Floating within the hospital or to an affiliated hospital nearby may be required
• Cerner EMR must be used for documentation
• Training and support provided for charge nurse duties as assigned
• Expected to provide coverage for at least 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Approved RTO is up to 5 days; additional time off is at discretion
• Assignment involves working closely with a multidisciplinary medical team
• Compliance with hospital floating policy is required

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license in hand at time of start (pending license accepted during onboarding but must be active to begin assignment)
• Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required (AHA or RQI accepted)
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited university required
• Prior experience with Cerner EMR required
• Not accepting local candidates for this position
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Previous perm or PRN employees must be away for 12 months before returning as a traveler
