Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position working night shifts in a hospital setting caring for a diverse medical-surgical patient population.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Med/Surg unit caring for patients with TIA/Stroke, anemia, UTI, chest pain, and other general diagnoses
• Night shift position with 12-hour shifts, 3 nights per week (19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend work required
• No call responsibilities
• Floating to other units within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Position is open to first-time travelers
• Expected to work assigned holidays based on length of assignment: one holiday if it occurs during assignment, both if two, and two out of three if three holidays
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO) allowed, and no RTO may be taken during the first week
• Compliance with all onboarding and orientation requirements is necessary to start on time
• Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift on the same unit
• Local applicants are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license
• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Must provide two supervisory references from a manager or higher at time of consideration
• Must not have been employed in any Piedmont facility within the past year to be eligible to return as a traveler
