Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position in New York requiring a NY RN license and at least two years of IR experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based mixed procedural unit supporting Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath, and Electrophysiology (EP)
• Adult patient population including cancer, GI bleeds, AKI, CKD, and liver disease cases
• Unit features 2 procedure rooms, 12 beds, and 7 average daily visits
• Day shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• No weekend or call requirements
• Floating required to Cath Prep/Recovery
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 during the day
• Uses Omnicell for medication management and EPIC for documentation
• Responsibilities include monitoring procedural sedation, managing vascular access, and supporting a shared prep and recovery area
• Orientation period is 11.5 hours
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
• Scrubs are provided at no cost
• Return staff must wait one year before being eligible for contract positions
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• Maximum of 5 days of requested time off allowed, with no time off permitted during the first two weeks
• Free employee garage parking is assigned when picking up badge

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including experience with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratios
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Experience in pre- and post-procedure care
• Proficiency in administering antihypertensives, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, and reversal agents
• Competency in blood product administration, implanted ports care, IV infusion pumps, and PICC line maintenance
• Experience with end-tidal CO2 monitoring, 12 Lead EKG, infection prevention, procedural sedation monitoring, pressure ulcer prevention, sheath removal, topical hemostasis, and vascular closure systems
• EPIC documentation experience required
• COVID-19 vaccination required with no exceptions
