Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position in a Level II Trauma unit serving adult and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population consists of adults and geriatrics
• Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00, with potential for 4x12s
• Required to work every other weekend
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6
• Floating to other units required as needed
• Possible charge nurse duties as needed
• Level II Trauma facility
• Common procedures include IV starts, wound care, wound vac usage, and following isolation precautions
• Must take a 30-minute lunch break during each shift
• All requested time off must be submitted prior to contract confirmation, as no additional RTO will be approved
• Candidates may not have other per diem or contract work during this assignment
• Locals are considered but must reside outside a 60 mile radius from the facility
• Local pay rates differ from traveler rates

Requirements

• Active AL or Compact RN license
• Current BLS certification through AHA
• Fit test required prior to start
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Experience in Level II Trauma preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to perform IV starts, wound care, and isolation precautions
