Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN with an active IL license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications for a night shift position at a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Room of a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00pm to 7:30am
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Mandatory floating to any facility within 50 miles and all units as needed
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• Strict compliance with lab work completion within 72 hours of offer acceptance is required
• Navy blue scrubs required and are not provided
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests allowed
• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted with no more than 2 consecutive days; no weekend or holiday RTO allowed and no RTO before or after a holiday
• Travelers may be floated outside primary competency area but will use a team-based care model when necessary
• Notification of floating may occur up to 2 hours before shift start
• First time travelers accepted

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required prior to consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ED experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and PALS certifications required
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility
• COVID-19 vaccine required prior to start
