Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a current NY RN license and at least two years of recent OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Operating Room unit of a hospital setting
• Night shifts are 12 hours in length, three shifts per week
• 13-week contract assignment
• No on-call responsibilities required during this contract
• Lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills and use of typical OR clinical instrumentation are required
• May be required to take charge nurse duties as needed
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are expected
• Must be able to work effectively under stress and demonstrate creative problem-solving abilities
• Ability to safely move patients using appropriate lifts as needed
• Thorough knowledge of nursing principles and ability to provide high quality OR patient care

Requirements

• Active NY RN license
• BLS certification is required and ACLS certification is preferred
• Minimum of two years of recent OR RN experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Preferred candidates have at least one year of medical/surgical experience
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
