Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool position in Ohio requiring a compact or OH RN license and strong IV and telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is part of the Med/Surgical Float Pool within a hospital setting
• Patient assignments in med/surg and telemetry units with float assignments to units of equal or lower acuity as needed
• Patient ratio is typically 1:4-5
• Day shifts with three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM), including some weekends and holidays
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse adult population
• Expected to work collaboratively with patient care teams across multiple units
• Must be flexible and willing to float between multiple units based on patient needs
• Holiday coverage may be required according to department needs
• No time off is permitted from 2/15/26 through 2/28/26
• Former employees may be eligible if they have not worked at the facility in the previous 6 months
• Current employees are not eligible for travel positions at this location
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years' prior Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Current BCLS certification required
• Proficiency in IV insertion and telemetry monitoring required
• Experience with Epic electronic health records required
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a nurse manager, director, or supervisor, and the second may be a charge RN
• Must be able to complete Ohio fingerprinting process prior to start
