Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Emergency Department position with night shifts and NJ or compact RN license required.

Responsibilities

• Position in the Pediatric Emergency Department of a hospital
• Schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts from 7pm to 7am, three days per week
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• Requires working every other weekend
• One winter and one summer holiday coverage is required
• No on-call requirement
• Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Utilizes Epic EMR system
• Provide nursing care across pediatric to geriatric patients in emergency situations
• Responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, documentation, and education
• Demonstrate proficiency with emergency procedures and equipment
• Maintain a professional and collaborative work environment focused on patient and family-centered care
• Adherence to National Patient Safety Goals and Universal Protocol required
• Compliance with confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines is expected
• Assignment limited to one year; requires a 30-60 day break before returning for a new assignment

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in critical care, cardiac, or emergency nursing required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (for pediatric ED)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• Must not reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
