Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with high-acuity inpatient experience and an active NJ license for a full-time, weekday position.

Responsibilities

• Work in an inpatient rehabilitation unit within a hospital setting
• Primary schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am–4pm or 9am–5pm
• Care for patients with high acuity, particularly those in ICU, Step-Down, or Cardiac units
• EMR system used is Epic
• May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Maintain visit productivity standards and complete documentation within established time frames
• Document skilled interventions in accordance with regulatory guidelines
• Interface with other healthcare professionals, students, and families, and utilize aides appropriately
• Act as a preceptor for new staff and provide orientation to new employees
• Demonstrate strong interdisciplinary communication and maintain safety and infection control standards
• Educate patients and families using age-appropriate and culturally sensitive methods
• No local candidates accepted; must reside outside 50-mile radius

Requirements

• Active NJ Occupational Therapist license is required if applicable
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• High-acuity inpatient experience, particularly in ICU, Step-Down, or Cardiac units, is highly preferred
