Job Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced ICU RN with a current HI license and a minimum of three years of ICU experience for a flexible shift assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital ICU setting with 11 beds
• Care for critical care patient population
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• Flexibility required for day or night shifts, determined by roster and staffing needs
• Schedule includes 3 12-hour shifts per week after orientation and 2 12-hour call shifts per 4-week period
• May float to other critical care and step-down units as needed
• Uses Meditech EMR system
• Professional dress code with scrubs required
• One week of orientation up to 40 hours provided
• All travelers must be in Hawaii the Thursday before assignment start to complete Employee Health screening on Friday
• Responsibilities include providing critical care nursing for ICU patients
• Assignment may include floating between critical care and step-down units based on facility needs

Requirements

• Active HI RN license required by start of assignment
• Minimum of 3 years recent ICU experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Must complete NIHSS certification online if not already held
• Must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to assignment start
