Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift assignment, requiring a GA or compact license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Medical Surgical unit caring for adolescent through geriatric patients
• Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am
• Average patient ratio is 1:6 on a 38-bed unit with an average daily census of 33
• Remote telemetry is utilized for patient monitoring
• Experience with Epic EMR is required; Pyxis and SBAR are also used
• Must float as needed within the facility
• No on-call requirements
• Required to work every other weekend
• Provide nursing care to adolescent through geriatric patients with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses
• Floating within the facility as needed is required
• No blocked scheduling is allowed
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Max 7 days of requested time off permitted; RTO not allowed during first week of assignment
• Travel pairs may not work the same shift in the same unit
• Full compliance is required prior to start, with orientation held bi-weekly
• Holiday coverage required per assignment period: if one major holiday falls during the contract, it must be worked; if two, both must be worked; if three, two must be worked
• Locals are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Must have prior experience with Epic EMR
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Must submit two supervisory references (manager or above)
• Candidates who were previously employed per diem or permanent must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one year prior to consideration
• Returning travelers unable to return to one Piedmont facility must complete a successful assignment outside Piedmont before returning to a new location
