Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro/Surgical ICU night shift position, requiring GA or compact state licensure and advanced cardiac certifications.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Neuro/Surgical Intensive Care Unit with some medical ICU overflow
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2-3 in a 15-bed unit with an average daily census of 10
• Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend work required
• Floating required within the facility
• Uses Epic for charting (experience required), along with Pyxis and SBAR systems
• Scrub color is navy blue
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off, excluding the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage required according to assignment dates and major holiday policy
• Compliance must be completed prior to start date to avoid a two-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Perm/PRN staff must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year to return as travelers
• Travel pairs may not be assigned the same shift on the same unit
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years ICU RN experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Experience with adult and geriatric intensive care populations
• Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Must provide two supervisory references (manager level or above)
