Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float position, requiring a GA or compact RN license and the ability to float among multiple acute care units.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital setting floating between ICU, Neuro ICU, CVICU, PCU, MS, and MS/Tele units
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• ICU nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2-3, PCU ratio is 1:4-5, and MS/MS Tele ratio is 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 7:00pm to 7:00am
• Floating to all relevant units within the hospital is required
• Every other weekend is required during the contract
• No on-call is required
• Uses Epic EMR (required), Pyxis medication system, and SBAR communication
• Must be willing to float to all designated acute care units as needed
• Scrub color requirement is navy blue
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off is allowed; no RTO in the first week
• Major holiday coverage is required according to the assignment period
• Full compliance with pre-employment requirements is necessary to start on time
• Orientation hours are determined by contract length
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Travel pairs are not allowed to work the same shift on the same unit

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license is required
• Minimum of 1 year recent critical care RN experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required
• Experience with Epic EMR is required
• Must provide two supervisory references from managers or above
• Returning employees must have been away from Piedmont facilities for at least 1 year
