Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown unit position requiring ACLS and BLS certification and at least one year of Telemetry and IV start experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Stepdown unit of a short term acute care hospital
• Level III Trauma Center with 244 staffed beds
• Day shift, 3x12 hours (7:00–19:30)
• Every other weekend required
• May float to level 2 or 3 sister units
• No on-call required, but extra shifts can be picked up
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5
• Holiday coverage required for 1 holiday per 13-week assignment
• Uses Cerner for charting with Cerner experience preferred
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Responsible for providing care to intermediate care/stepdown patients with telemetry needs
• Travelers may be called off up to two times per assignment without penalty
• Parking is provided at no cost
• First time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active IN or compact state RN license required; pending license accepted if active by start date
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum one year of recent RN experience in a telemetry or stepdown setting required
• Experience with IV starts required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
