Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Night Shift position requiring a NC or compact RN license and EKG exam completion.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a short-term acute care, Level III trauma, teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule: 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend is required
• Patient ratios are 1:4-5
• Travelers may be required to float within scope to similar units to meet facility needs
• Epic charting system is used in this facility
• Royal blue and white scrubs are required
• Travel pairs are not accepted on this unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Block scheduling requests may be accommodated
• Assignment duration is 13 weeks
• Return-to-work and RTO requests are at manager's discretion
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday coverage may be expected per hospital guidelines

Requirements

• Current NC or compact RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of PCU experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must pass EKG exam prior to assignment
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Only candidates absent from previous staff roles at this facility for at least 1 year are eligible
• Limited to two contracts before a required 6-month break
