Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of recent L&D experience, BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications, and Epic charting skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit caring for neonates, adolescents, and adult patients
• Scheduled for 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Expected to float to other units within the organization as needed
• Patient assignment is typically 1:1 during both day and night shifts
• Work every other weekend as part of the schedule
• Unit includes 13 beds with a daily census of approximately 10 patients
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Responsibilities include triaging obstetrical patients, performing fetal monitoring, assisting deliveries, IV therapy, and providing postpartum care
• May be required to assist with C-sections, pain management, and high-acuity antepartum and postpartum cases
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV, physical therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, and social services
• Flu vaccine required; medical exemptions only
• No COVID-19 vaccine required
• Two time-off requests may be pre-approved, but no RTO is permitted from 2/15/26 through 2/28/26
• Former employees are eligible to return if separated for 6 months or more; current employees are not eligible as travelers
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, though previous travel experience is preferred
• Holiday coverage is expected for major holidays as defined by the unit

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP
• NCC C-EFM certification acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• Ability to start and maintain IVs and provide comprehensive L&D care
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• References: 2 professional references, including at least 1 from a manager, director, or charge RN
