Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position caring for cardiac and neuro patients, with Epic EMR proficiency and ICU experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiovascular ICU within a teaching hospital environment
• Mixed patient population including cardiac and neurological cases
• Responsibility to float among three hospital locations within 20 miles as needed
• EPIC charting system used and proficiency required
• Role does not accommodate block scheduling
• Responsible for advanced cardiac monitoring and emergency response procedures
• Care includes management of intra-aortic balloon pumps, pulmonary artery catheters, and post-cardiac surgery patients
• Perform arterial line and central line management, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and care for ventilated patients
• White scrubs are required for this role
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• All requested time off must be declared at the time of application; late requests will not be approved
• Facility is smoke-free and requires all staff to be nicotine-free with no exceptions
• Holiday coverage includes all major holidays and is required as assigned
• Travelers must wait at least 6 months before returning for another assignment at this health system

Requirements

• Active FL or compact state RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 18 months ICU nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
• Experience with both cardiac and neurological ICU patients required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required at time of consideration
• NIHSS certification required prior to start
• EPIC EMR experience at a competency level of 3 or 4 required
• Nicotine-free status and negative 10-panel + nicotine (cotinine) drug screen required
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required, with medical or religious exemptions only
• Must pass EKG and pharmacy tests during orientation with a maximum of two attempts
