Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an X-Ray Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, ARRT (R), and BLS certification for a Level III Trauma, acute care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a Level III Trauma, acute care hospital with 286 staffed beds
  • Responsible for radiology procedures on neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
  • Covers OR, Ortho, Fluoro, inpatient, outpatient, and ER settings as required by the hospital
  • Utilizes equipment by Phillips and Toshiba
  • Expected to float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Shift is 4x10s, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM with on-call rotation including weekends
  • Epic charting is preferred; Cerner is also utilized
  • Duties include performing diagnostic radiographic procedures using ionizing radiation
  • May be assigned emergency response team duties during hurricane season (June-November)
  • Teal top and black bottom scrubs are required
  • No charge for parking
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be declared at application; approval is based on facility needs
  • Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are considered at a reduced rate
  • Past permanent employees (including PRN) must have a 1-year separation from the facility before returning as a traveler
  • Completion of pre-start modules required (average 4 hours)

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as an X-Ray Technologist
  • ARRT (R), SCRQSA (R), BLS, and CPR certifications required
  • Fluoroscopy and OR experience required
  • Radiation badge must be provided by the candidate or agency
  • Ability to perform radiology procedures independently with high technical competency
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • License required if applicable
