Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position in an acute care setting with a focus on high-acuity step-down patients.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 6-bed ICU unit within an acute care hospital environment
• Patient population includes sepsis, COPD, DKA, overdose, renal, surgical, and respiratory cases
• Unit functions as a high acuity step-down and low acuity ICU and is the dedicated COVID unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
• Uses TruBridge - Evident (CPSI-Evident) EMR system
• Night shifts, 12 hours each, typically 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, with three shifts per week
• Required to work every other weekend
• Expected to float to the Tele-MedSurg unit as needed
• One shift of floor orientation will be provided
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Adequate PPE provided, N95 masks are used for 24 hours then disposed of
• Holiday work is scheduled based on perm staff availability
• This position may occasionally require working in a COVID care environment

Requirements

• Active OH or compact state RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or similar experience
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• Experience with high acuity or step-down patients preferred
