Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for an Inpatient PCU stepdown position requiring a NM or compact license and strong MS/Tele experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital setting on an Inpatient Progressive Care Unit (PCU) stepdown unit
• Patient population includes medical-surgical and progressive care patients, some receiving drips and with invasive monitoring
• Unit has 26 beds with nurse to patient ratios of 1:3-5
• Common titratable drips include insulin, amiodarone, and levofed
• 12-hour night shifts, with flexibility required for scheduling
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• No on-call or float requirements for RNs
• EMR system used is TruBridge - Evident (CPSI)
• Required to wear navy blue scrubs
• Primary responsibilities include titrating drips, reading tele strips, and managing critically ill patients in a stepdown setting
• Team includes nurse aides assisting with ADLs, vitals, and transports; charge nurses have reduced assignments
• 1-2 day orientation with a preceptor depending on needs
• Will participate in holiday rotation as needed
• Must be able to manage respiratory equipment including bipap and cpap, with RT support available 24/7
• The hospital is working towards Level IV trauma designation
• Completion of approximately 20 hours of pre-employment online modules is required

Requirements

• Active NM or compact RN license
• Minimum of 3 years of MS/Tele experience required
• ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• Experience with titrating drips and reading/interpreting tele strips required
• Stepdown or PCU experience preferred
• Experience maintaining intubation and managing respiratory equipment preferred
• Must be able to complete required online learning modules prior to starting
• First-time travelers will be considered
