Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring ED and combined adult/pediatric experience with BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Emergency Department with a patient population including both adults and pediatrics
• Shift is 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30 on nights
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4
• Experience required in triage, IV starts, and phlebotomy
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Floating within skillset required
• Duties include emergency triage, starting IVs, and performing phlebotomy
• Completion of required modules pre-start and possibly during orientation, with an average of 12 hours on modules
• RNs must be willing to occasionally float to units within their skillset
• Past employees must have been separated for at least one year to be eligible
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate
• RNs must be prepared for manager interviews or direct hire without interview
• Scrub or dress code requirements will be provided prior to start
• First time travelers will not be considered for this assignment

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years prior Emergency Department experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS are required
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
• ED experience with combined adult and pediatric patient care required
• Charge experience, TNCC, CPI, and MAB certifications are preferred
