Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Echocardiography Sonographer for a Level 1 trauma acute care assignment, requiring current BLS and RDCS or RCS certification.

Responsibilities

Work in an acute care setting within the echocardiology department
Perform both inpatient and outpatient adult echocardiography procedures
Use Philips Epiq and Philips IE33 ultrasound systems
6–8 studies per day per technologist, including transthoracic, limited, stress, and transesophageal echocardiograms
EPIC is used for charting; McKesson CPACS for image management
Monday to Friday 8-hour day shifts with rotating start times, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
On-call coverage required with a 30-minute response time
Every 5th weekend coverage required: work Saturday and on-call Sunday
No floating to other departments required
Team includes a radiology supervisor or lead tech on shift and all studies are read by a cardiologist
Duties focus on performing quality adult echocardiography studies in both inpatient and outpatient settings
Department specific orientation is provided
No specific scrub color required; scrubs are not provided
No COVID vaccination requirement
Clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles are eligible for local rates
Facility is a drug-free campus and a negative drug screen is required
No holiday coverage requirements
Not required to float or cover other imaging areas

Requirements

2+ years of experience in echocardiography preferred
Current BLS certification from AHA required
Registered as RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) required
Experience with adult transthoracic, stress, and transesophageal echocardiograms required
Proficiency with Philips Epiq and IE33 equipment preferred
Experience using Epic EMR required
Ability to start IVs if able
Active IL license required, or application process must be initiated (license required if applicable)
All licenses and certifications must be active at time of consideration
