Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on night shifts, requiring a WV or compact RN license and EPIC experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital
• Unit has 16 beds with a typical nurse to patient ratio of 1:5
• Provides care to adult patients requiring medical, surgical, and telemetry monitoring
• Performs procedures including CBI, wound management, assessments, catheter care, and orthopedic care
• Uses the EPIC EMR system; prior EPIC experience required
• Night shifts are 12 hours from 7pm to 7am with rotating weekends and holidays
• Floating to the tele unit may occur if needed but is not mandatory
• No on-call responsibilities
• Main responsibilities include patient assessments, telemetry monitoring, wound care, catheter care, and supporting orthopedic cases
• Pass/fail EKG testing is required for consideration in this unit
• Team structure includes support from other RNs and the interdisciplinary team
• Holiday coverage is required as part of the rotating weekend/holiday schedule
• No local travelers accepted due to 50-mile radius rule
• Required to provide references and recent skills checklist for consideration

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with EPIC EMR system required
• Must provide an unexpired copy of driver's license for consideration
• Not eligible if permanent staff at any WVU facility in the past 2 years or as a traveler for 1 full year in the past 2 years
• Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
