Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring at least 1 year of experience and a NM or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 32-bed Medical Surgical unit of a hospital
• Patient ratios are 1:6
• Night shifts are 3x12 hours, 18:30–07:00
• Weekend requirement is 6 shifts within a 6-week period
• Floating required within scope
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
• Uses Epic documentation system; Epic experience preferred
• Any scrub color is acceptable as long as there is no hospital logo
• First-time travelers are accepted
• No travel pairs or groups permitted
• No local traveler candidates accepted
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved
• No requested time off permitted during the first week of orientation

Requirements

• Active NM or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required; CPI preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Former permanent staff must be separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
