Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring CRRT experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at a Level II Trauma Center
• Care for trauma, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, and complex surgical patients, including TAVR and CABG cases
• Patient ratios are 1:2-3 in SICU; may float to stepdown with ratios of 1:3-4 based on acuity and skill level
• Provide care for patients needing CRRT, IABP, Impella, and EVD drain management
• Use Epic as the charting system
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:00)
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Floating within scope required to meet unit needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Travel pairs not allowed on this unit
• Care responsibilities include management of acute ventilator needs, COVID+ patients with high O2 demand, DKA, severe sepsis, unstable GI bleed, open heart recovery, TAVR recovery, post-code blue, multisystem organ failure, and trauma cases
• Must wear navy blue scrubs per dress code
• Every other weekend work required
• No holiday time off requests will be approved

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license
• Current ACLS and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum two years of SICU or relevant ICU experience
• CRRT experience required and proficiency with at least one of the following: IABP, Impella, Prismax, or EVD drain
• Strong skills in dysrhythmia interpretation, arterial line management, and blood product administration
