Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN with at least one year of experience, ACLS and BCLS certification, for intermediate care in an acute hospital setting in Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Intermediate Care/Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule (3x12-hour shifts: 7:00–19:30)
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required
• Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs
• EPIC charting system is used; experience may be required
• Navy scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must provide professional references from supervisors within the last two years
• 13-week contract minimum with potential for extension
• All standard travelers can stay up to 18 months before a 3-month break is required
• Free parking provided onsite

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration; pending IL licenses not accepted
• Current certifications in ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale required
• At least 1 year of recent Telemetry RN experience required
• Experience with EPIC EMR system may be required
• No local candidates; must reside outside a 75-mile radius
• No more than 7 days of requested time off during 13-week contract; no RTO allowed during orientation
• Former permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
