Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring strong ER skills, a valid MD or compact RN license, and the ability to work every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Work in a busy Emergency Department within a hospital setting
• Cares for all patient age groups from infants to geriatrics
• Handles patients with a wide variety of complex diagnoses in a fast-paced environment
• Unit has 47 beds with an average daily census of 130 and a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Works three 12-hour mid shifts per week from 11:00 to 23:30
• Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required as scheduled
• Floating within the ER specialty is required
• No pre-scheduled on-call responsibilities
• First-time travelers with strong ER experience will be considered
• Must provide care to diverse patient populations with varied and complex diagnoses
• Must be willing to float within the ER specialty as needed
• Holiday coverage is required as assigned

Requirements

• Active MD or compact state RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred, but candidates with 1 year of strong ER experience will be considered
• Experience with all age ranges in an ED setting is necessary
