Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a Home Health position requiring at least 1 year of recent home health experience and a valid state license.
Responsibilities
- Home health setting covering various regions including Sonoma, Marin, Contra Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara, San Joaquin/Stanislaus, and Sacramento counties
- Caseload emphasizes patient-first approach, with a minimum of 23-24 visits per week expected
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- No weekend shifts or mandatory on-call required
- Wide range of cases, primarily geriatric home health and wound care
- Kinnser/Wellsky EMR system is used, and charting must be completed while in the clinic
- Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard from first to last patient each day
- Responsibilities include providing home health physical therapy and completing documentation in real time using a provided tablet
- Candidates may be asked to cover additional surrounding counties as needed
- No charting is allowed to be taken home; all documentation must be done on site
- Free residential parking available in most service areas
- Any color scrubs with closed-toe shoes are permitted
- COVID vaccination is required, with religious declination considered; flu shot is recommended but can be declined with documentation
- All requests for time off must be submitted up front; no further requests will be approved after offer
- Contract length is 4-6 months, with 6 months required for clinicians with less experience
- A 50-mile local radius applies for eligibility
Requirements
- Current state PT license required; license must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of recent home health experience and 2 years of overall clinical experience required
- BLS certification required
- No negative marks ('hits') on state license
- Ability to perform wound care and manage geriatric cases
- Must submit all required compliance documents before starting
- First-time travelers will be considered for the position
