Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) day shift position with weekend and high patient ratio requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work on a Medical Surgical unit with an oncology focus
• Day shifts: three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Patient ratio is 1:6 or 1:7
• Uses Cerner and Soarian EMR systems
• Block scheduling may be considered
• Responsibilities include caring for Med/Surg and oncology patients, performing telemetry monitoring, and starting IVs
• Royal blue scrubs are required and not provided
• Minimal to no requested time off (RTO) will be considered
• Candidates may be considered for contract extension
• Start date is approximately three weeks from offer

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum one year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Experience managing higher patient ratios required
• Proficiency in telemetry and IV start required
• Oncology experience highly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Must provide two professional references
• Applicants must reside at least 30 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay
