Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU night shift position requiring a NJ or compact RN license and pediatric critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) with responsibility for a 4-bed PICU and 8 convertible beds
• Patient population includes pediatric critical care and can include COVID patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 in the PICU and 1:3-4 for pediatric patients
• Uses specialized respiratory support equipment including CPAP, Vapotherm, and high flow oxygen
• Night shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30)
• Self scheduling is available with manager approval and block scheduling is permitted
• Floating required to NICU (with training provided), as well as to Labor & Delivery and Postpartum as helping hands only
• Every third weekend required
• No patient care assistants on the unit; RNs provide total patient care
• Teamwork across multiple units including NICU, L&D, and Postpartum as needed
• Will consider local candidates

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Ability to pass a basic arrhythmia exam
• COVID vaccination card required
• Nursys license verification required for consideration
