Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN with chemotherapy experience and a WA or compact RN license for a night shift position in a teaching hospital.
Responsibilities
- Work in an inpatient oncology unit within a hospital
- Care for patients primarily receiving chemotherapy, including neutropenic patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4
- Night shifts (3x12 hours) from 19:00 to 07:30
- Weekend shifts required unless otherwise posted
- Floating may be required within the hospital but not to sister hospitals
- Uses Epic for charting; Epic experience preferred but not required
- Facility is a Magnet, teaching hospital
- Primary responsibilities include administering chemotherapy, managing chemotherapy symptoms, caring for neutropenic patients, and handling blood product transfusions
- Scrub uniforms of any color may be worn (scrubs provided for OR personnel only)
- Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rates
- No maximum radius for candidates
- Request for time off limited to one week and not allowed during orientation
- Cost for daily parking is $10.26
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience, with oncology and Med/Surg/Tele experience considered
- At least 2 prior travel assignments beyond initial hospital
- BLS certification required
- Experience with chemotherapy administration, chemotherapy symptom management, blood product administration, and central line (tunneled and non-tunneled port) care required
- COVID vaccination and booster required
- Pending licenses are not accepted
- First-time travelers are not accepted
- Prior staff from this health system must be separated for at least 18 months before returning as travelers
