Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least one year of acute inpatient or rehab experience for a dayshift contract at a Level 3 trauma acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute inpatient and rehab physical therapy department on hospital floor 2
• Patient population includes ortho-total joints, neuro-strokes, occasional brain injuries (not TBI), medical, and general ICU cases
• Typical caseload is 10 to 12 patients per day with a team of 6-7 PTs working daily
• Must be able to cover acute inpatient, rehab, and potentially ICU depending on experience and department need
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Dayshift schedule of five 8-hour shifts per week (5x8), with orientation requiring Monday through Friday scheduling
• Rotating weekend shifts required, approximately every fourth weekend unless assigned to weekends as regular rotation
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Department staffed with rehab aides and 2 PTAs
• Primary responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of patients in acute, rehab, and potentially ICU units
• Travelers generally receive 2-3 days of department-specific orientation
• Scrubs are permitted and must not match color of other departments; a list of acceptable colors will be provided upon hire
• No blocked scheduling or special shift requests will be accepted
• First-time travelers will be considered for this assignment

Requirements

• Active state PT license required if applicable; license must be active at time of consideration
• Minimum one year of recent experience as a licensed PT in acute inpatient or rehab setting
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Must provide a copy of drivers license for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years with employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility (no local candidates accepted)
• Permanent employees of the facility must be away at least one year before applying
