Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department (ED) travel position in Texas, requiring at least one year of recent ED experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department (ED) of a hospital setting
• Provides care to a diverse emergency patient population
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week travel contract assignment
• Frequent interaction with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced ED environment
• Certifications cannot expire within the first 30 days of the assignment
• First-time travelers are eligible for consideration
• Assignment may require teamwork with other travel and core staff
• Dress code and specific orientation details provided upon assignment

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license
• Minimum of 1 year of recent ED nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or ARC accepted), with valid cards for the duration of the assignment
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or equivalent certification such as SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA accepted
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• Professional reference required (one reference for Texas)
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
