Description
American Traveler is seeking a Home Health Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience and HomeCare HomeBase/OASIS proficiency to serve patients across suburban Maryland.
Details
- Home Health setting covering Montgomery County, Prince Georges County, Charles County, and St Marys County, MD
- Contractors are assigned to a specific group of zip codes within one county based on staffing needs
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- May be required to float to cover another zip code as needed
- Uses HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) EMR with OASIS documentation
- Personal vehicle required for transportation between patient visits, with mileage reimbursement provided
- 13-week contract length
Requirements
- BLS certification required
- MD license required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of recent physical therapy experience within the last 7 years
- HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and OASIS-E experience required
- Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the previous 3 years
- Reliable personal vehicle with valid licensure and insurance required
- Skills include patient assessment, adaptive/assistive device use, body mechanics, gait belt and Hoyer lift use, and home exercise program instruction
- Experience with geriatric and orthopedic patient populations preferred
- Experience with COPD and CHF patient care preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include performing home-based patient assessments, therapy treatment, and OASIS documentation
- Provides patient and family education as part of home exercise programs
- Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower pay rate
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum RTO allowed is 7 days per 13-week contract
- RTO requests must be submitted with the initial profile and cannot be changed after submission
- Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Not open to first-time travelers; at least one completed travel assignment is required
