Description
American Traveler is seeking a Home Health Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience and Homecare Homebase/OASIS expertise for a 13-week assignment in Washington, DC.
Details
- Home Health setting serving patients across an assigned group of zip codes within the District of Columbia
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- May be asked to float to cover another zip code as needed based on staffing needs
- Uses Homecare Homebase (HCHB) and Point Click Care EMR systems
- Utilizes OASIS documentation
- Mileage reimbursed for travel between patients during the workday
- Requires use of a personal, reliable vehicle with current licensure and insurance
Requirements
- Current BLS certification required
- DC license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of recent physical therapy experience within the last 7 years
- Homecare Homebase and OASIS-E experience required
- Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
- Experience with adaptive and assistive devices, gait belts, and Hoyer lifts
- Skilled in body mechanics, pain assessment, and skin integrity assessment
- Experience with COPD and CHF patient populations preferred
- Geriatric and orthopedic specialty experience preferred
- Proficient in home exercise program development and patient/family education
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include home-based physical therapy assessment, treatment, and documentation for a geriatric and orthopedic patient population
- Focus on patient and family education and development of home exercise programs
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum of 7 RTO days allowed per 13-week contract
- RTO must be submitted with the initial application and cannot be changed after manager review
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
- Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
