Description

American Traveler is seeking a Home Health Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience and Homecare Homebase/OASIS expertise to serve patients in the Washington DC area.

Details

Home health setting covering assigned zip codes within the District of Columbia based on staffing needs
Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
May be required to float to cover another zip code as needed
Uses Homecare Homebase (HCHB) and Pointcare EMR systems for documentation
Mileage reimbursed from first to last patient visit of the day
Clinicians use personal vehicles and must maintain valid licensure and insurance

Requirements

BLS certification required
DC license required if applicable
Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years
Homecare Homebase/OASIS-E experience required
Must have completed at least 1 previous travel assignment
Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
Skills in OASIS, gait belt, Hoyer lift, and home exercise program required
Experience with geriatric and orthopedic patient populations preferred
Experience with adaptive/assistive devices, body mechanics, pain assessment, and skin integrity assessment preferred
Experience with COPD and CHF patient care preferred

Additional Information

Main responsibilities include home-based physical therapy assessment, treatment, and patient/family education
Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
Candidates must provide a driver's license matching their address to determine local status
No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a travel contractor
