Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry night shift position, requiring prior travel nursing experience and active GA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Telemetry unit with 32 beds
• Patient population includes adults to geriatrics with cardiac, renal, pulmonary, vascular, DKA, and occasional post-surgical cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6
• Care involves arrhythmia management, cardioversion, cardiac drips, hemodynamic monitoring, and post-PCI care
• Epic EMR experience preferred; uses Pyxis and SBAR communication tools
• Night shifts are 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating may be required within facility and scope of practice
• On-call is rare with a 2-hour response time
• Must wear navy blue scrubs
• Expected to work major holidays as assigned according to assignment period length
• Compliance must be completed on time to start as scheduled; delay may result in postponed orientation
• Return travelers must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• If ineligible at any Piedmont facility, traveler must complete a successful assignment elsewhere before returning
• Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift on the same unit
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• Locals accepted at same rate

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry RN experience
• Prior travel nursing experience is required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with basic arrhythmias, cardiac drip management, and hemodynamic monitoring needed
• Competence in post-cardiac cath, TR Bands, and med/surg patient care required
• Ability to manage Epic EMR preferred
• Candidates must provide two supervisory references from managers or higher
• Cannot request RTO during first week of assignment; maximum 7 days of RTO allowed
